“Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.”  ~ Luke 9:23-24

Being a disciple of Christ goes beyond enjoying the blessings and benefits of salvation, but it is about denying your own desires and sacrificing comforts for the sake of spreading the Gospel. Being a disciple means to discover God’s purpose for your life and how it aligns with Christ’s command to make disciples of all nations. Discipleship doesn’t have to do with going to heaven, but it has everything to do with living a life of authentic purpose.
